BIOGRAPHY:

Wide Mouth Grin is often described as 'jam band', but their music is not isolated to one genre. Sonically, the band manages to bridge a gap between the abstract improvisational sound of many typical jam bands and jazz artists, and the note for note more 'prog-rock' Zappa-esque sound that showcases their individual musicianship. With multiple albums worth of all-original material as well as some great recognizable covers, Wide Mouth Grin manages to transform all types of audiences into Grinners.

Guitarist and song writer Steve DiCesare of Boulder was gifted musician at an early age.  Steve began losing his hearing at the age of 9 and has been almost completely deaf for years. Just as impressive are the hearing members of the band who have needed to learn how to interact and play with a deaf musician. This comes most easily for bass player, Mr. B of Louisville who has been playing with Steve since their junior high stage band. Drummer Pete Solveson of Boulder has collaborated with Steve in other bands over the past decade.

Wide Mouth Grin strives to create something new and different, while continuing to honor the sonic 'scapes' of some of their biggest influences from the world's greatest bands like The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Dead, Pink Floyd, Rush, Phish, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Billy Joel, The Police, and on and on.
